WAP/PDA "light" version of the portal?

Hello,

was it ever consider to make Proz accessible in some light format for mobile devices? (Or maybe it even works, I just have not noticed any usual tag for that kind of service.)

If one could get to the main page where most of the graphic/dynamic content would be removed and the required parts accessible via menus, it could make the "emergency" access this way a bit more convenient for people in areas with low-speed connection signal.

May be this is more feasible in the short term?
With a short URL to a WAP Version of the Blueboard?

Other Translation Portal already provides this option, without distinction of paying and non-paying members.

Hello all,

Please note that there was a ProZ.com mobile version that had been released in 2007. However, this feature was not widely used and so it was discontinued and replaced by RSS feeds.

But why? The costs for this are virtually nothing, except for a special template/stylesheet/filter to cut off "rich" elements, which probably was used by then anyway, so it might have been easy and very cheap to keep it live IMHO independening of usage.

and replaced by RSS feeds.

Unfortunately RSS is not the same as WAP/light version, so not exactly a replacement. RSS gives quick info or "hints", but no "light" option to react via web (except for loading standard version).
