just now, looking at my Visitors tab, I noticed an odd "freelancer" that visited my profile 17 times in a breeze quite odd as this behavior is typical of bot/crawler ... and just a minute ago another "freelance" that visited my profile 31 times ... it's clear to me that some bot/crawler disguises itself as a freelancer does any peer noticed the same phenomenon? [Modificato alle 2010-02-12 01:18 GMT] Sounds creepy doesn't it? Since Jan 27, no more crawlers have been displayed in the Visitors section. However, like you pointed out, I've had the same feeling as you do, where someone accessing my profile or contact or whatever it is at Proz are not all humans. And it's really difficult to find out. | | | Claudio Porcellana (X) Italy TOPIC STARTER Visitors, the saga goes on? | Feb 12, 2010 |
an admirer? admired by Visitors? he's nothing if not creepy! anyway, I've just dropped a support ticket may be the bot/crawlers makers have simply changed their behavior to bypass Proz filters, or that Proz filters are faulty Claudio

I would have thought that to be identified as a "Freelancer" it has to be someone who is logged in and has a profile? The "Freelancer" designation is applied within proz.com, isn't it? Bots can't usually login. | | | Claudio Porcellana (X) Italy TOPIC STARTER bot/crawler or freelancer? | Feb 13, 2010 |
I have a suspect then the "Number of visit" column refers to the number of visit from the beginning (of this year, may be) not to the number of visit for a single passage what do you think about?
