I have looked everywhere and I can’t find an answer. I would like to know if in Spanish the # symbol can be used. I have seen it a lot in English instead of number. I was told that in Spanish it doesn't exist, or at least is not used the same way that in English.
Thanks!

Yes, indeed we do use it, maybe not as often as other cultures do.

It is in Latin America Apr 27, 2008

In South America we have used the # sign to indicate a number.

Maybe not in Spain, but for sure in Venezuela, where I grew up and Colombia, where I have lived for several years.
