KudoZ points only really help in increasing your search ranking in the directory. If you're the only translator in your pair, you don't need help. | | | Souleymane Ba Canada Local time: 11:53 Member English to Fulani + ... TOPIC STARTER
Really? There are others, I mean that I am the only member. | | | Sheila Wilson Spain Local time: 15:53 Member (2007) English + ... Members come first | Jan 7, 2020 |

However, if you're interested in appearing in filters for translations between two languages (e.g. English Wolof) then you must state that pair in the list of language pairs in your profile. At the moment, you only have monolingual languages specified. HTH

Hi, Anyone can explain to me how to turn monolingual languages into language pairs like Eng to Wolof or English to Fulani? I realized that my profile displays only monolingual whereas I translate both from English and French. You support is highly appreciated. Nanga def! 😁

Vera Schoen wrote: click on Edit Languages, then click Add languages and add the ones you need. First you need to bring up your profile page (just to make things clear). An alternative method is to select the "Profile Updater" tab on your profile page -- same end result. Souleymane, it sounds as though you'd benefit from attending the Meeting Clients free webinar. If you've bought Plus membership, you can even ask for more in-depth, personalised help. Also check out My Directory Ranking under the Jobs and Directories tab to see what you can do to improve things (more relevant for French than your other languages, of course). And peruse the Site Guidance Centre as there's a lot of help in there, whether you're new to translating or just new to making the site work for you.

Thank you Vera and Sheila. If I add a language, it still displays it as monolingual rather than a combination. For example : English to Fulani. I still can't see the language pairs as I would like visitors to see it. So, my concern is how to display the combination. I hope you get my point now. Thanks in advance again. | | | Marjolein Snippe Netherlands Local time: 16:53 Member (2012) English to Dutch + ... two separate boxes | Jan 7, 2020 |
When you click on "edit languages", two or more boxes should appear. The top box, titled "Languages" shows all languages you speak/understand. The second box should show language pairs. You should be able to add language pairs. Sheila's suggestion of attending the free "Meeting Clients" seminar is a very good one. Souleymane Ba wrote: I now have my language combinations displayed. God bless you. Great -- I can see you have some pairs listed now. If it's not something you already have in place, you now need to make sure you get email notifications of everything that might interest you, e.g. KudoZ questions and, above all, job posts. For English to French you may want to only be notified about your specialist or working subject areas, to avoid being inundated. I imagine you're more expert than many in the rarer languages, whatever the subject. You'll find notification preferences in the Settings tab of your profile page. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » What if I am the only member in my language?
