Source text - English A shitcoin is a form of currency that is more or less designed to enrich its creators. It differs from bitcoin in this sense because bitcoin’s creator has disappeared, and their known coins have never moved. Shitcoins can be subdivided into two main categories: Craptocurrencies and Kleptocurrencies. Craptocurrencies are exercises in cryptographic mental gymnastics. Deliberate scams trying to piggyback off of the success of bitcoin. Craptocurrencies are also known as altcoins or "cryptos." Names that give them more credit than they deserve. These are all pyramid schemes and scams. Their creators fool ignorant newcomers into giving them their bitcoins. They do this mainly by claiming that "blockchain technology" has more than one use case.

Source text - English Freedom means that you don’t have to do what the majority of your fellow men want you to do, but that you can decide for yourself. As the economist John T. Wenders once said, “There is a difference between democracy and freedom. Freedom cannot be measured by the opportunity to vote. It can be measured by the scope of what we do not vote about.”
That scope is very limited in a democracy. Our democracy hasn't brought us freedom, but the opposite. The government has enacted countless laws that make many voluntary social interactions and relations impossible. Tenants and landlords are not free to make contracts the way they see fit, employers and employees are not free to agree on the wage and labor conditions they wish, doctors and patients are not allowed to freely decide what treatments or drugs they will use, schools are not free to teach what they want, citizens are not allowed to ‘discriminate’, businesses are not allowed to hire whomever they want, people are not free to take up any profession they want, in many countries political parties must allow female candidates to run for office, educational institutions are subject to racial quotas, and the list goes on. All this has little to do with freedom. Why would people not have the right to come to any kind of contracts or agreements they want? Why do others have a say in agreements to which they are not a party?

Essa extensão é muito limitada, numa democracia. A nossa democracia não nos trouxe liberdade, antes pelo contrário. O governo promulgou inúmeras leis que impossibilitam muitas interações e relações sociais voluntárias. Os inquilinos e os senhorios não são livres de celebrar contratos da forma que entenderem, os empregadores e os trabalhadores não são livres de chegar a acordo sobre as condições salariais e laborais que desejam, os médicos e os pacientes não são livres de decidir que tratamentos ou medicamentos vão utilizar, as escolas não são livres de ensinar o que querem, os cidadãos não podem "discriminar", as empresas não podem contratar quem quiserem, as pessoas não são livres de exercer qualquer profissão que queiram, os partidos políticos de muitos países são obrigados a permitir que as mulheres se candidatem, as instituições de ensino estão sujeitas a quotas raciais e a lista continua. Tudo isto tem pouco a ver com liberdade. Porque é que as pessoas não têm o direito de chegar a qualquer tipo de acordo ou contrato que desejem? Porque é que as outras pessoas têm poder de decisão em acordos dos quais não fazem parte?

I am a native Portuguese translator. I've lived and studied in Lisbon until the year 2019, at which point I've relocated to Belfast, Northern Ireland, U.K., at 27 years old.
I am a qualified and experienced translator, with expertise in English-Portuguese (EU) Translation/Proofreading.
