I am a full-time translator with 13 years of experience. I specialize in environment, energy, agriculture, government, NGOs, and international organizations but also have extensive experience in other areas including legal, business, education, IT, engineering, science, etc.

I always strive to deliver easy-to-understand translations. To achieve this, I conduct thorough research and ensure clarity in every aspect. If necessary, I include footnotes to provide further explanations or to highlight any discrepancies in the original text. To ensure the highest quality, I always print out and review my translations to check any errors before delivery.

I have translated 25 books and possess significant experience in translating lengthy reports (100+ pages) published by major international organizations and research institutes. My translations have been delivered to national government institutions including the Ministry of Environment, the National Institute of Ecology, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, the National Institute of Fisheries Science, as well as regional government institutions including the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Chungnam Research Institute, and Gyeongnam Provincial Government.

I received Proz.com Certified Pro certificate and can use CAT tools including Trados, MemoQ, and Wordfast.

I pursued a Ph.D. in Environmental Policy at the School of Natural Resources and Environment, University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). Additionally, I hold a Master’s degree in City Planning from the Graduate School of Environment, Seoul National University, South Korea, and a Bachelor of Economics from Seoul National University, South Korea.

I worked as a researcher at the Center for Sustainable Systems, SNRE, University of Michigan, and I published a paper in a peer-reviewed academic journal: Helfand, Gloria E., Park, Joon Sik, Nessauer, Joan I., & Kosek, Sandra.
