Case 1

This lady in her thirties had always been unhappy with her extreme high lip line (Figures 4 and 5), which led to an ** increase in facial lining **. This was because the majority of muscular action was from the Laevator anguli oris and the zygomaticus. We decided to perform lip-repositioning surgery on the patient. The patient’s sulcus was further assessed showing an excess of mucosal tissue (Figure 6) and as she had ample lip height (from the vermillion border to the base of the nose), we removed a full ovoid shape (split thickness)(Figure 7). We then placed interrupted sutures with 5.0 silk (Figure 8) which were removed after two weeks.
