"Aprensión" means 'squeeze', but that's not how the problem is described in English. The word 'grip' already implies squeezing.

Diría, sin mayor contexto, que una cosa es la fuerza de agarre (grip strenght) y otra una limitación de la prensión, esto es, una limitación de la capacidad de prensión o agarre versus de la fuerza de prensión o agarre de la mano (que tal vez podría expresarse como "limited/decreased gripping ability/function"). Si bien una limitación del agarre implicará una menor fuerza de agarre, menor fuerza de agarre no implica necesariamente una limitación del propio movimiento.
Y sí, "aprensión" es un error; debe leerse "prensión".

En el original, prensión del puño / prensión de la mano harían referencia a lo mismo (grip/gripping), tanto si fuera una referencia a la fuerza de agarre (grip strength) como si, como planteo en respuesta, fuera una referencia a la capacidad de agarre (gripping function/ability).
